Clarkson Park becomes Omaha’s first to install solar panels

With electricity at the park, it will be easier for groups to hold concerts, ice cream socials and other events, said Margie Magnuson, president of the neighborhood association. An electrical outlet also will enable people to power up their phones and computers while at the park.

Magnuson and Eric Williams, a member of the Nebraskans for Solar board, said solar panels are the most practical and affordable way to get electricity to small parks such as Clarkson.
